Grant Associates is guest lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University

Andrew Grant, director and founder of Grant Associates, to present open lecture on theme of ‘rewilding’ cities.

14 OCTOBER 2015, MANCHESTER, UK
Summary
Andrew Grant, director of Bath based landscape architect Grant Associates, will present on the theme of rewilding urban areas at an open lecture hosted by Manchester Metropolitan Business School.

The lecture, to be presented at the Business School in Lecture Theatre 3, is free and open to all on Thursday, 22 October 2015 from 17:30 to 19:00.

Andrew Grant will discuss the role of landscape architecture in an age of climate change, rapidly advancing technology and an increasingly urban global population.

The core theme of Grant Associates’ address will be the creative possibilities offered by sustainable landscape architecture and ecological placemaking – including reconnecting city dwellers to the wonder, fear and power of the natural world.

The presentation will see Andrew Grant draw on over 30 years’ experience of working on national and international projects that bring the qualities of the natural world into urban environments.

Notable UK landscape design projects by Grant Associates to reconnect people to nature include the recent regeneration of Bristol’s historic Harbourside as part of a £120m scheme for developer Crest Nicholson.

Key international projects, such as the multi-award winning Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, have also demonstrated Grant Associates’ ethos of connecting people with nature.
